Is It I?
When the washing was over, Jesus laid aside the towel and put on his coat again. He explained, "You call me Lord, and Master, and
so I am. If I, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet, you ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example
that you should do to each other as I have done to you. The servant is not greater than his master, and if you would be good servants
you will obey my words. If you know my commands, you will be happy when you obey them."
Being troubled, Jesus said, "One of you will betray me."
How could this be? The disciples began asking, "Lord, is it I?"
Jesus said, "It is the one to whom I shall give this piece of bread when I have dipped it." Jesus gave the bread to Judas Iscariot and
said, "Whatever you do, do quickly." Immediately Judas left the room and went out into the night.
The disciples did not understand. Because Judas took care of the money, they thought he was going to do something for Jesus.
